Proof-reading and editing

Trust is great, but proper check is better!

Every translation that leaves our office is verified. We deliver all orders with internal quality control. It consists of checking the completeness of the translation, the terminology used, the numbering and correctness of the application of the regional rules, the correctness of the digits and contact details, the formatting of the text.

In addition, depending on the purpose of the translation, we offer additional proofreading and editing We always emphasize that texts intended for publication (eg websites) in particular need to be further corrected.

Language correction (correction by native speaker)

It consists of checking the translation by a specialist in the native language, i.e. a person for whom a language is a mother tongue. The purpose of this type of correction is to edit the text in such a way that it sounds completely natural in the target language. This correction includes smoothing the translation style and checking grammatical correctness. The proofreader also pays attention to the selection of an appropriate dictionary, while maintaining the maximum accuracy of the translation. Correction by a native speaker is not equal to cultural adaptation (adaptation of the text in an appropriate cultural context) or copy-writing. Both services are performed after individual conversations about the purpose of the translation and information about the country for which it is intended.

Editorial correction (so-called "brush")

It is executed after the translation, when the translated text is for printing. We focus on preserving typographic conventions in a language, improving the formatting and punctuation of words, ensuring that all characters, graphics and completeness of the text are expressed correctly. The purpose of the brush is to eliminate defects caused by typographical errors or text irregularities. The service is performed by adding comments to a sample (preliminary) printout. This is not a service equivalent to language correction or independent verification and never replaces any of them.

Comparison with the original (independent verification)

The translation is compared to the original by a second translator. We choose the examiner to be a specialist in the field of text. Independent verification aims to improve the text in terms of semantic, factual and terminological consistency.
